The Jefferson Theater, located on the Downtown Mall, is Charlottesville's oldest theater, opened in 1912 as a vaudeville house.

2009 renovation

Renovations were begun after June 2006 closing, the result of a purchase by Coran Capshaw.[1] Intended as a live music venue, reopening is scheduled for November 27, 2009.
