Reverend James Madison Barr, III (1919-2009) practiced law briefly in Charlottesville and served on the Charlottesville City Council from 1948 to 1952.

Born on March 17, 1919 in Bellehaven, NC, Barr was a graduate of Fork Union Military Academy, the University of Virginia and the University of Virginia School of Law. He practiced law briefly in Charlottesville and served on-term on the city council before entering the University of California at Berkley School of Ministry and began his 40 year career in Ministry as a Unitarian Universalist Minister.[1]

Burial at Grace Episcopal Church, Keswick, VA .
