The $2.1 million Ivy Fire Station will be located in an existing warehouse on Route 250 adjacent to the University of Virginia Medical Center's Northridge Medical Park.[1] The 7,000 square foot station will be staffed by a crew of six and will house two fire engines and an ambulance. There will be no public meeting spaces built as part of the project. [2]

County officials said more 500 homes in Ivy area will see their response times decrease dramatically when the station is complete. [3] It will be staffed 24 hours a day by a three-person crew. One fire engine will be housed at the station.
