The Ivy Fire Station is located in a warehouse owned by the University of Virginia on Route 250 between the University of Virginia Medical Center's Northridge Medical Park and Volvo of Charlottesville.[2] The 5,800 square foot station has two full-size apparatus bays, a kitchen, an operations office, a fitness room, and sleeping quarters. The station will be staffed by a crew of career and volunteer firefighters to operate one 24-hour fire engine and a daytime ambulance.[3] Originally, the station was planned to be 7,000 square feet with six crew members, two fire engines, and an ambulance.[4]
