Hubert A. Stecker was appointed as city manager of Charlottesville in January 1917 at an annual salary of $2,000. [1]

Biography

Stecker received a degree in civil engineering from the University of Wisconsin. Before joining Charlottesville, he was city manager of Farmville.

City service

In June 1917, Stecker wrote to city residents through the Daily Progress and notified then trash service would be increased to twice a week. [2]
