Henry A. Haden was Albemarle County Executive from January 1, 1934 to June 11, 1945.[2] He also served one term on the Charlottesville City Council. [3]
Biography
In February 1942, Haden was on the Civilian Defense Council and was the first person to donate to an emergency bloodbank opened at the University of Virginia hospital. [4]
1948 election
Haden was a Democratic candidate for City Council in the April 6, 1948 primary. [5] He made his announcement after Charles P. Nash and J. Emmett Gleason announced they would not seek re-election. [6] Haden received the second-highest number of votes. [7] [8]
Later life
In 1961, Haden was president of National Bank and Trust. He was also elected president of the board that ran the birthplace of Thomas Jefferson. [9]
