Harold Lee Alden

Harold Lee Alden was an assistant professor of astronomy at the University of Virginia who was hired by Yale University in 1925 to travel to South Africa to direct an observatory there. Alden's work focused on measuring the distance to stars using the parallax method. He began his tenure at UVa in 1914. [1]

Biography

Alden received his bachelor's degree from Wheaton College and his master's in science from the University of Chicago in 1913. He received a doctorate from UVA in 1917. [1]
