Biographical Information

Gerald E. Fisher was a member of the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors beginning in 1972, representing the Samuel Miller District. He was named chairman in 1976 at age 39[1] and served in the capacity when the County adopted the Revenue sharing agreement with the City of Charlottesville. He was named to an 11th consecutive term as chair in early 1986. [2] He would serve as chairman for a total of almost 12 years, the longest tenure since 1943. [citation needed]

Fisher is now retired and continues to live in Albemarle County. He served on the board from 1972 to 1987.
