George Rogers Clark is a Charlottesville native who served as a brigadier general during the Revolutionary War. During that time, Clark was the highest ranking military officer in the northwestern frontier. Clark's most well-known military accomplishments include the captures of Kaskaskia (1778) and Vincennes (1779), both in what is now Illinois[1].

Biography

Clark was born near Charlottesville on November 19,1752 and died on February 13, 1818. He is the brother of William Clark. [2]
