Gary O'Connell has been the City Manager of Charlottesville since November of 1995. Prior to that he served 14 years as the City's Deputy City Manager. Prior to that, O'Connell served six years as Assistsnt City Manager for Maryville, Tennessee. He holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration from the University of Tennessee, and is a graduate of Hampden-Sydney College. He is married with three children.
