Fuel is a convenience store and Sunoco gas station located at the corner of 9th Street and Market Street in Charlottesville. The store was originally opened by Patricia Kluge as a restaurant/convenience store combination. That concept was not successful, so the establishment closed in 2007.
New life
Subhash “Sam” Desai purchased the property at an auction in 2011 for $580,000 [1]and reopened the store - minus the restaurant - in February 2012. [2]
