Frank Buck served as Mayor of Charlottesville from 1980 to 1988. He broke a long-standing tradition on City Council by holding the position for four consecutive terms.

Buck presided over the bail-out of the Omni Hotel, the creation of the revenue sharing agreement with Albemarle County and the creation of Darden Towe Park[1]. He is currently president of the board of directors for the Ash Lawn-Highland Opera Festival[2].

2010 incident

Buck was arrested[3] on November 11, 2010 after allegedly assaulting a client following an unsuccessful court case. A hearing on the incident will be held in mid-December[4].
