Fontaine Avenue is the two-lane road that runs from US 29 to the corner of Jefferson Park Avenue and Jefferson Park Avenue Extended.

Fontaine is one of Charlottesville's Entrance Corridors.

The city is administering a Smart Scale project known as the Fontaine Avenue Streetscape.

Proposed widening

A road widening project was studied and is therefore on the MPO's Transportation Improvement Program[1]. The project will not receive further funding before 2018.

Fontaine/Sunset Connector

There is a proposed road to connect Fontaine to Sunset Avenue/Old Lynchburg Road in the county.
