  • 1909 – In the early morning hours, a fire spread through an entire block of East Main Street, destroying more than six businesses -- including Gilmore Furniture and The Peoples National Bank -- and damaging many others. Initial damage to all of the businesses was estimated to be near $250,000 (worth $7,672,529 in 2020 dollars).[1]
  • 2024Lionel Lyons reported to work as Charlottesville's Deputy City Manager for Operations and Eden Ratliff reported to work as Deputy City Manager for Administration. [2]
