Fashion Square Mall is an enclosed retail shopping mall at the southwest corner of US 29 and Rio Road, in Albemarle County, that opened in 1980[1].

The project was originally to be located in the City of Charlottesville on what is now the site of the Seminole Square Shopping Center[2].

Violence at the mall

The mall has often become the center of large fights among teenagers and other young adults. The latest incident was in March 2010, when the mall had to be closed because of a large melee involving over a hundred individuals[3].
