F.A. "Tony" Iachetta

F.A. "Tony" Iachetta is a former member of the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors who died in June 2013. [1]

Biography

Iachetta is a native of New Jersey who was hired by the University of Virginia's Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering in 1954. He had served in both the Army and Navy and was a veteran of both World War II and the Korean War and graduated from UVA. Iachetta received a doctorate in mechanical engineering from North Carolina State University in 1967.

Iachetta was elected to the Board of Supervisors to represent the Rio District in the mid 70's and served two terms.

After that, he was appointed to be chair of the Rivanna Water and Sewer Authority. He served from June 9, 1990 to September 11, 1996. [2]


His daughter is city registrar Sheri Iachetta.
