Dennis Rooker (I) represents the Jack Jouett district on the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors. He was first elected in 2001 and was re-elected on November 8, 2005. He served as chairman in 2005-2006.


Biography

Dennis Rooker was born in Michigan in 1950 and grew up in Pulaski, Va. He graduated from Pulaski High School in 1968, from UVA with a B.A. in economics in 1972, and from UVA Law School in 1976. He and his wife, Ann, have 2 daughters, 2 grandsons and a granddaughter. A businessman and attorney, he has lived in Albemarle County for 35 years. He has served on numerous Albemarle County government committees for the past 15 years, and served on the Albemarle County Planning Commission from 1997 to 2001, serving as Chair in his final year. including the Planning Commission which he chaired.

He recently announced he would stand for re-election to a third term on the Board of Supervisors[1]

He is an attorney and business owner.[2]

Rooker is currently a member of the MPO Policy Board, the PACC, the South Fork Rivanna Reservoir Stewardship Task Force the Albemarle County Fiscal Impact Committee and the Meadowcreek Parkway Design Committee.
