- 1706 – John Harvie Sr. is born in Gargunnock, Stirlingshire, Scotland. A prominent inhabitant of early Albemarle County, Harvie was a founding member of the Loyal Company of Virginia and temporarily served as the guardian of a young Thomas Jefferson.
