David Slutzky
Template:Infobox Candidate3 David Slutzky (D) won election to the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors on November 8, 2005. He is a candidate for re-election in the election that will be held on November 3, 2009.
Biography
David Slutzky is in last year of a four-year term as Supervisor for the Rio district seat on the Board of Supervisors. He became the Board's Chair on January 7, 2009.[1]
Slutzky is the president of consulting firm E2 Inc. and an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Urban and Environmental Planning at the University of Virginia
Slutzky's previous experience includes time in federal government. He held the post of Senior Policy Advisor and founding Director of the Urban Initiative, at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, D.C. He also served as Senior Policy Advisor and Coordinator of the International Task Force of the President's Council on Sustainable Development, at the White House in Washington, D.C. during the Clinton Administration.
He holds a B.A. in Political Philosophy at University of Chicago, and a J.D. from Kent College of Law at the University of Chicago, in the Program in Environmental and Energy Law. He also completed coursework towards a PhD in Political Philosophy from the University of Chicago.[2]
Committee Assignments
Slutzky is currently chair of the MPO Policy Board. He is also a member of the small working created to help shepherd the creation of the Regional Transit Authority.

2009 Campaign
On May 11, 2009, Slutzky received his party's nomination to seek a second term[3]. He will face Republican Rodney Thomas in the general election.
