Cynthia L. "Cindi" Burket is the Scottsville District Republican nominee for the Albemarle Board of Supervisors in the 2013 election.[1]
Political Background
Burket served as chair of the Albemarle County Republican Committee until she chose to run for supervisor.[2] She was president of the Albemarle-Charlottesville Republican Women's League in 2008.[3]
In 2013, Burket was one of ten candidates for appointment as interim Scottsville District Representative on the Albemarle Board of Supervisors following the June 2013 resignation of Christopher Dumler.[4] William "Petie" Craddock was ultimately appointed to the seat.[5]
In 2011, Burket ran unsuccessfully for the At-Large seat on the Albemarle County School Board against Ned Gallaway.[3]
Education
Burket earned a B.S. in Law Enforcement and Correction from Penn State University and a M.A. in Public Administration with a concentration in Criminal Justice from George Mason University in 1974 and 1981, respectively.[6]
