Timelines
Dipity
- Slow to the point of frustration at times
- Easy to use and nice to look at.
Tiki-Toki
- Very nice looking.
- $20/month
- Limit to 25 (free version limits to one and cannot embed)
Time Glider
- Easy to use
- Easy import for timelines
- Pictures and links (problem - when there are more than one event in one area sometimes the pictures make things incredibly cluttered. Can resize pictures and widget frame, though).
- Free account allows three timelines. Time Glider Plus ($5) that allows for easy imports.
Timeline Verite
- Very easy to use (can make in Google Docs)
- Free
- Working with Google Docs you can't always see what you're doing until you embed/post
- Can get cluttered (fixed by making the widget frame larger)
- Can also get downloaded free version (for which importing should be easy), unfortunately I haven't gotten it to work with out site. It produces a more complicated timeline but requires pure HTML
