The Crow Indoor Pool is an aquatic center operated by the Charlottesville Parks and Recreation Department that is co-located at Walker Upper Elementary School. The pool was closed in October 2010 when the new Smith Aquatic & Fitness Center opened. [1]
Despite being closed to the public, Crow can still be rented by groups at a rate of $16.50 per lane-hour. [2] That has prompted members of the community to ask if the pool can be reopened because the Piedmont Family YMCA has not yet opened a new facility in McIntire Park. [1] Parks director Brian Daly will prepare a cost estimate to help the City Council make a decision during the development of the budget for FY2013.
