The Commonwealth Restaurant & Skybar was a restaurant with a rooftop bar that opened in September 2011. [1]. [2]
The restaurant closed in the early days of the COVID-19 Emergency and did not reopen.
History
The restaurant had originally been expected to open in June 2011. [3] Alex George is one of five investors working on the project, which will be located in the former A&N Building on the downtown mall.[3] Construction required the bricking over windows in apartments located in an adjacent building.
Plans were approved by the Board of Architectural Review in February 2011.[1]
The initial cuisine was "new American with a South American influence." [4]
Interior construction design was provided by Alloy Workshop and Rowen Barton Studio.[5]
