The Chesapeake Bay TMDL is a "pollution diet" being overseen by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency that seeks to limit the amount of nitrogen, phosphorous and sediment that makes its way into the nation's largest estuary. TMDL stands for the "total maximum daily load" that each segment of bay's watershed is allowed to let flow.

The U.S. Farm Bureau has filed suit against the EPA seeking to halt the process, claiming it will place undue burdens on agriculture. [1]
