City Planning Commission in April 2009

The Charlottesville Planning Commission is a seven-member advisory board that advises the Charlottesville City Council on matters and issues related to land use and urban planning in the city. The commission holds a regular meeting on the second Tuesday of each month, and and one work session each month.

The role of the planning commission is to apply the content of the comprehensive plan to physical growth and development within the limits of the City of Charlottesville. They oversee any rezonings, special use permits, site plans, and other development items that come before the city.

The planning commission also serves as the Entrance Corridor Review Board (ERB).
