Charlottesville Opera, formerly known as Ash Lawn Opera, is an opera company based in Charlottesville. The company traces its history to 1978, when Priscilla Little led the first of a series of performances at Ash Lawn-Highland. [1] In 2017, Ash Lawn Opera changed its name to Charlottesville Opera.[2] An organizational restructuring occurred in late 2018,[3] and David O'Dell was hired as the company's general director in January 2019.[4]
