The Charlottesville Abundant Life Ministries (CALM) is a partnership among the residents of the Fifeville/Prospect Avenue neighborhood (including Blue Ridge Commons Apartments, Prospect & Orangedale Avenues, Bailey Road, and 7 1/2 Street) and volunteers from local churches and area nonprofits[1].

CALM was founded by Amy Sherman. Rydell Payne has been the Executive Director since September 1999.[2]

Prospect Avenue rezoning

On June 21, 2010, the City Council granted the organization a rezoning allowing its property at 834 Prospect Avenue to be transformed from R-2 to McIntire-5th Street Residential. The new classification will allow for the construction of multi-family units at the location, increasing residential density in the neighborhood[citation needed].
