Chan Bryant is a candidate seeking the Democratic nomination for sheriff in the 2019 election. [1] She been endorsed by the current sheriff, Chip Harding. [2]

Biography
Bryant has been with the Albemarle County Sheriff's Office since 1995 and became the department's first female Sergeant in 2009. Six year later she became the first woman to be deputy sheriff.
