The Cavalier Inn is a two-diamond AAA hotel [1]located at the intersection of U.S. Route 29 and University Avenue.

The inn is owned by the University of Virginia Foundation and managed by Marshall Hotels and Resorts[2].

The University's Board of Visitors is currently considering plans to redevelop 14.5 acres of property at the corner of Emmet Street and Ivy Road called the "Ivy Corridor." Several of the proposals have called for demolishing the Cavalier Inn in order to develop the property and add more green space. [3]
