The Camelot Wastewater Treatment Plant is a water treatment plant on U.S. Route 29 north of Charlottesville serves the area around Briarwood, the University of Virginia North Fork Research Park, and the Rivanna Station Military Base.
The Albemarle County Service Authority plans to replace the aging plant with the North Fork Regional Pump Station. The Camelot facility is at capacity and is nearing the end of its useful life.
The Rivanna Water and Sewer Authority announced September 22, 2009 that the facility will be decommissioned before April 2013, the point when Virginia Department of Environmental Quality effluent standards will increase sharply.[1]
