Bucks Elbow Mountain
Bucks Elbow Mountain, also known as Buck's Elbow, (Elevation 3,163 feet) is a mountain situated near Mint Springs Valley Park and Middle Mountain in the Blue Ridge Mountains northwest of Crozet in Albemarle County. The City of Charlottesville is approximately 13 miles southeast and has an elevation of 594 feet (2,569 feet lower than Bucks Elbow Mountain).

Fixed-wing twin engine Cessna (2018)
According to Virginia State Police, 51-year-old Kent Carr was flying home when his 1996 fixed-wing twin engine Cessna crashed in a remote area near Saddle Hollow Road near Crozet during thunderstorms on Sunday evening, April 15, 2018. An online report from the FAA says the plane hit a cell tower and then the side of the mountain. Carr was the only occupant of the plane when it crashed. He worked at Augusta Lumber. His parents were Mitchell and Iris Carr.[2]
Piedmont Airlines Flight 349 (1959)

On October 30, 1959, while performing an inbound turn, Piedmont Airlines Flight 349 (a Douglas DC-3) crashed on Bucks Elbow Mountain at 2,600 feet, killing the crew of three and all but one of its twenty-four passengers.
