Brandon Collins is a socialist candidate who is running for the Charlottesville City Council in 2011. [1] He serves on the board of the Charlottesville Center for Peace and Justice and is the secretary of the Socialist Party of Central Virginia. If elected, he intends to challenge the state's 'Dillon Rule' which limits the authority of local governments without expressed consent of the Virginia General Assembly.

Collins is a graduate of Charlottesville High School and works at the Blue Moon Diner. [2]
