Bob Gibson is the Executive Director of the Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership. For many years he was a writer and columnists for the Charlottesville Daily Progress, where he continues to write a blog. On July 1, 2009, he was appointed to serve on Virginia Commission on Civics Education.

Biography

Gibson graduated from the University of Virginia in 1972 with a B.A in government and foreign affairs. After graduation, he served as new director of WCHV before joining the Progress in 1976. Since 2001, he has been a regular host on WVTF Public Radio's Evening Edition. He left the paper to work for Sorensen in 2008[1]. He is married to Sarah McConnell and has three daughters.
