Board of Visitors

The Board of Visitors is the 16- member governing body of the University of Virginia appointed by the Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Each member is appointed for a term of four years and may be reappointed for one additional term. The Board can also choose to elect a student as a nonvoting participant of the Board of Supervisors for a period of one year. [1]
