Revision as of 20:49, 7 April 2008
The Albemarle County Board of Supervisors voted 6-0 to approve a rezoning for the Biscuit Run development on September 12, 2007. The approval came after 1:00 AM after a public hearing that itself only began at 10:00 PM. [1]. This will be the largest residential development ever in Albemarle County.
Charlottesville Tomorrow will continue to monitor the development as it proceeds to site plan. There are many proffers which will trigger at certain points of the development. This document will serve as an attempt to keep an eye on whether those proffers are in fact being honored. The Board of Supervisors will hold three public hearings on stream crossings at its meeting on April 9, 2008.
Concerns
Residents of neighborhoods in the south of Charlottesville are concerned that traffic from the development will overwhelm their streets.
