Avon Street Corridor Bicycle and Pedestrian Improvements: Druid Avenue to Avon Court is a candidate project in the fifth round of the Smart Scale funding process administered by the Virginia Department of Transportation. [1]

The project is recommended for funding with a final decision slated for June by the Commonwealth Transportation Board. [2]

Project description

"The project will develop a package of multimodal transportation improvements along Avon Street between Druid Ave and Avon Court. Improvements include bicycle and pedestrian facilities, road widening on the west side of Avon Street, undergrounding a drain and improvement to stormwater retention." [1]
