Anderson McClure is a UVa grad [1] and restaurant owner who co-owns West Main Restaurant on West Main Street and The Virginian on the Corner with his brother, Pat McClure.[2] He also owns the Citizen Burger Bar on the Downtown Mall.[3] He was president of the Corner Business Association in 2009.[4]
Controversy
Along with his brother Pat McClure, Anderson used to co-own the restaurant Jaberwoke on The Corner. In 2007, UVa students and community members accused McClure of using a dress code to keep African Americans out. McClure said he was responding to poorly-behaved customers who often wore the same types of clothing; he later suspended the dress code altogether.[2]
