Allan Sumpter is a former administrator of the Virginia Department of Transportation's Charlottesville residency. He left the district to work VDOT's residency in Wise. [1]

Biography

Sumpter received a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Virginia Tech in 1988. After joining VDOT as a trainee, he was Assistant Resident Engineer for the Lebanon Residency from 1991 through 1996 and then as Resident Engineer from 1996 through 2000. He left VDOT in 2000 to become a project manager for Virginia Maintenance Services, Inc. (VMS, Inc.).

Sumpter returned to VDOT in September 2006 to serve as a residency maintenance manger for the Charlottesville Residency.

Sumpter is a native of Jonesville and his wife, Patty, have three children. [1]
