Historical studies

In 1948, the planning commission was charged with studying fire protection measures in the rural area. [5]

In 1948, the planning commission also heard from state officials who wanted to modernize 137 miles of roadway in Albemarle County. They sought the commission's input on a protective highway ordinance that would prevent buildings from needing to be moved. [6]

The role of the University on the Planning Commission was discussed at a public hearing on September 10, 1986. [7]
