Albemarle County Democratic Committee

The Albemarle County Democratic Committee is the organizing body of the Albemarle County Democratic Party. The committee supports Democratic candidates by raising funds, raising visibility, and working to get Democratic candidates elected. Members and volunteers work closely with Democratic campaigns.

In 2010 and in 2011, the Albemarle Committee was a finalist for "Committee of the Year" of the Democratic Party of Virginia [1].

Personnel

The Steering Committee [2] consists of a Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Counsel, Parliamentarian, two Outreach Chairs, and District Chairs representing the six magisterial districts in the county.

On August 1, the Committee announced that it was hiring Ben Brumleve as executive director for the 2011 electoral cycle.[1]

  • Graham Paige, Vice Chair for Outreach
  • Cauline Yates, Vice Chair for Special Projects
  • Richard McGrain, Vice Chair for Voter Registration

Previous Chairs include Valerie L'Herrou, who served from 2012 to 2013, and Fred Hudson, Chair of the Fifth District Democratic Committee and Second Vice-Chair of the Democratic Party of Virginia. Taylor Beard and Will Harvey preceded Fred Hudson as Chairs.[2]

Previous vice chairs include Cynthia Neff.
