The Virginia Department of Transportation is installing adaptive traffic signal technology between Ivy Road and Polo Grounds Road on U.S. 29 as part of the Route 29 Solutions package. [1]

The system's installation began in the fall of 2014. Construction is expected to be completed no latter than the summer of 2016. [2][dead link]

Preliminary engineering for the project cost $300,000. The entire construction is expected to cost $3.42 million. [3]
