2019 election
The 2019 general election will be held on November 5, 2019. All 140 members of the Virginia General Assembly will be up for reelection. Locally will see the election of three members of Charlottesville City Council and three members of the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors.
The primary for Democratic and Republican candidates will be held on June 11, 2019. That will also be the deadline for independent candidates to qualify for the ballot. [1]
Albemarle County
Elections for supervisor and school board will be held in the Rivanna, Scottsville and White Hall magisterial districts.
Rivanna
Incumbent Norman Dill has not announced whether he will seek a second term.
Scottsville
Incumbent Rick Randolph has not announced whether he will seek a second term.
White Hall
Incumbent Ann Mallek has not announced whether she will seek a fourth term.
Charlottesville
There are three seats open on the Charlottesville City Council. The first terms of Councilor Wes Bellamy and Mike Signer are up, as well as the second term of Kathy Galvin. None so far have announced whether they will seek reelection.
City resident and Democrat Sena Magill has indicated she is planning on a run for Council. [2]
There will also be elections for the school board.
