The 2019 general election will be held on Tuesday November 5, 2019. All 140 members of the Virginia General Assembly (House of Delegates and State Senate) will be up for reelection. Locally will see the election of three members of Charlottesville City Council and three members of the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors
Candidate filing period opens Wednesday January 2, 2019 - filing deadline for this election is Thursday March 28, 2019 at 5:00 p.m.[1]
The primary for Democratic and Republican candidates (if held) will be on Tuesday, June 11, 2019. That will also be the deadline for independent candidates to qualify for the ballot. [2]
Albemarle County
Elections for supervisor and school board will be held in the Rivanna, Scottsville and White Hall magisterial districts.
Rivanna
Incumbent Norman Dill has not announced whether he will seek a second term.
Scottsville
Incumbent Rick Randolph has not announced whether he will seek a second term.
White Hall
Incumbent Ann Mallek has not announced whether she will seek a fourth term.
City of Charlottesville
General election will include Local and Constitutional Offices: City Council (3 seats), City School Board (4 seats), Soil & Water Conservation District Director and the Clerk of Court.
City Council
