The general election for 2015 will be held on November 3.

Charlottesville

City Council

The Charlottesville City Council seats held by Kathleen Galvin, Satyendra Huja, and Dede Smith will be up for election. [1]

Wes Bellamy, Lena Seville and Mike Signer are all challenging. Signer, a business attorney, announced his candidacy on February 11, 2015 at the Downtown Transit Center. [2]

Bellamy held his campaign declaration on February 15, 2015. [3]

Seville announced her campaign at Bon on February 28, 2015. [4]

Smith announced her campaign at West Main Restaurant on March 4, 2015. [5]

Galvin announced her campaign at The Bridge PAI on March 11, 2015. [6]

Anson Parker is also considering a run on a fully crowdsourced platform. He is seeking a Republican nomination.

The first campaign finance reports for the race were due on April 15, 2015 and cover the first three months of the year. Signer raised the most money with $17,415 and Bellamy raised $8,204. The other three candidates did not report any activity. [7]

School Board

The Charlottesville School Board seats held by Colette Blount, Amy Laufer, Jennifer McKeever, and Willa Neale will also be up for election. Only Laufer has indicated she will seek another term as of April 23, 2015. [8]

Thomas Jefferson Soil and Water Conservation District

Incumbents Rich Collins and John Conover will not seek reelection.


Albemarle County

Board of Supervisors

In Albemarle County, the Rivanna, Scottsville and White Hall magisterial seats will be up for re-election.

Republicans will nominate their candidates at a mass meeting on June 1, 2015. [9]

Democrats will hold a mass meeting on May 18, 2015.

Independents have until June 9 to file paperwork with the county registrar.

Rivanna District

There will be an open seat in the Rivanna District as Ken Boyd will not seek a fourth term. [10] Lawrence Gaughan originally filed for the Democratic nomination in the Rivanna District, but changed his status to independent once Democrat Norman Dill announced he would also seek the party's bid. [11]

No Republican has yet emerged.

Gaughan has raised $3,800 as of April 15, 2015. [12]

Scottsville District

Jane Dittmar will announce on April 30 whether she will seek a full four-year term in the Scottsville District. Dittmar was elected to a two-year term in a special election to replace former Supervisor Chris Dumler.

No Republican or independent has emerged.

White Hall District

Ann Mallek will be up for a third term in the White Hall district. Mallek announced on February 24, 2015. [13]

No Republican or independent has emerged.


School Board

The Albemarle County School Board seats held by Ned Gallaway, Barbara Massie Mouly, Steve Koleszar, and Jason Buyaki will also be up for election. Koleszar and Buyaki have stated they will run, but the others have yet to announce their plans.

Other races

Chip Harding announced on January 10, 2015 that he will run for reelection as sheriff. The venue was the Albemarle Republican Committee breakfast. [14]
