- March 3 – Charlottesville City Council honors Rich Collins for his service as chair of the Rivanna Water and Sewer Authority [1]
- August 4 – A delegation from Pleven, Bulgaria, exchanges keys to the city with Charlottesville City Council. [2]
- August 4 – The Boys and Girls Club of Central Virginia enter into a ground lease with the city of Charlottesville for land at Buford Middle School. [3]
- September 15 – City Council discusses VDOT plan to repair Belmont Bridge and directs staff to consider replacement instead [4]
- October 22 – Albemarle Board of Supervisors votes 6-0 on rezoning for Albemarle Place, which would become Stonefield mixed use development on the corner of Emmett and Hydraulic.[5]
