On May 5, 1998 Charlottesville held elections for two seats on the City Council.
Issues
At a press conference in late March, Crafaik called upon the City Council to hold a plebiscite on the Meadowcreek Parkway.
"Let's not put in the hands of three council members a decision so crucially important to many thousands," Crafaik said. [1]
City Council
Candidates | Votes | % |
---|---|---|
David Toscano (D) incumbent | 2,589 | 57.55 |
J. Blake Caravati (D) | 2,345 | 52.13 |
Michael Crafaik (R) | 1,679 | 37.32 |
James King (I) | 1,539 | 34.21 |
Voters could cast two votes, one for each of the two seats available, hence the percentages do not total 100%.
