  • August 9 – A large fire breaks out in downtown Charlottesville destroying the McCrory's Department Store. Crews from surrounding community helped contain the blaze. [1]
  • September 4 – Charlottesville City Council adopts a resolution thanking fire crews from Crozet, Earlysville, East Rivanna, Gordonsville, North Garden, and Scottsville for their assistance in containing the major fire that engulfed downtown Charlottesville on August 9 of this year. [1]
