On [[June 9]], [[1964]], Charlottesville voters turned out in modest numbers to give the three-man Democratic ticket a clear victory in the City Council election. On June 9, 1964, Charlottesville voters turned out in modest numbers to give the three-man Democratic ticket a clear victory in the City Council election. A total of 3,123 votes were cast in the election, which returned Mayor Bernard J. Haggerty and Vice Mayor Lindsay B. Mount to their second terms on Council and gave a substantial victory to the third Democrat, Burkett A. Reynolds, in his first campaign for public office. Dr. John H.
