  • January 6 – “Tiverton,” $150,000 residence of Mrs. Mariska Owsley at Greenwood is destroyed by fire. Mariska Golgotzen, the Baroness Von Eltz of Vienna, Austria, third wife and widow Dr. Owsley, survived a devastating fire that gutted the structure.[1]
$150,000 in 1935 is equivalent in purchasing power to about $2,851,905 in 2021, an increase of $2,701,905 over 86 years.
