- February 8: The regular montly meeting of the [[1912-1914 City Council|City Council], was attended by the following aldermen: R. W. Holsinger, president; E. A. Balz, W. R. Barksdale, J. P. Ellington, J. E. Gleason, L. T. Hanckel, Jr., T. J. Michie, F. M. Huyett, Henry D. Jarman, John S. Patton and A. D. Payne.[1]
March 12: The Virginia General Assembly passed legislation permitting all cities and towns to adopt residential segregation ordinances.
